Dear Friends,

I invite you to buckle your seatbelts for the next several weeks.  This Sunday, the 23rd we will have our Choir dedication during worship.  The choirs have worked diligently to prepare a musical offering to the glory of God and the inspiration of His people.  Additionally, we will celebrate the Sacrament of Infant Baptism with Havens Adams, child of Drs. Robbie and Kym Adams. It is always a joy to mark one of our small ones with the sign and seal of God’s grace.

Immediately following worship we will adjourn to the parking lot where we will break ground on our new Fellowship Hall, Kitchen and Office Annex projects.  This is a milestone for us, after much planning, revision and prayer. Please plan to stay just a few minutes so that we can share this meaningful time together.

From 6-7PM we will join the Music Ministry again with a celebration of “Music From the Heart”, a presentation of sacred music offered by soloists, instrumentalists, and gathered choirs.  This will be a time of beauty and inspiration for all in attendance.

If you have not put the 29th and 30th of September on your calendar yet, it is not too late.  On Saturday the 29th we will host the Highland Games again.  Come prepared to compete or to observe. We will have the traditional games, music, and fare of the occasion.  The warm ups will begin at 11AM, followed by lunch at noon, competitions at 1PM and a High Tea at 2PM.  Reservations are requested for the tea.  $6 per person.

On Sunday the 30th we will observe the Kirkin’ o’ the Tartans.  You may wish to arrive early to find a seat, since this service always draws a crowd.  We will celebrate the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper and honor our Celtic heritage as a denomination.  Lunch will follow with reservations requested.  The fee is $5 per person with a $15 family maximum.  (Please note that we define a family as the immediate family.)  This day has become the hallmark of Westminster in our community.  Please come and be a part of it.

This, of course, is just the beginning.  As men and machines begin to move on the property, we will be busy with the approaching seasons of Fall Festival, Thanksgiving, Advent and Christmas.  Now is a good time to jump back in and join your church family in the joyful celebration of God in our midst.

I’ll see you Sunday!

Ken
